black hole van (1) right place, right time
We just found out today we've sunk over a thousand dollars into a car that won't run again. Last month my wife got a tune-up and the brakes and window motor fixed so that we could close the windows and drive the car in the coming winter. Then the damn thing broke down in a town about 40 miles east here.
Lucky for us the car broke down in front of a garage. Pretty , huh? I mean, it couldn't have happened in a better place. So we counted our that we didn't get stuck in the middle of nowhere. again, we did have a dead vehicle on our hands that we needed to get back on the road . So the guys it a quick look and we asked how long before we could expect to get it back.
out the car needed a new fuel pump. , that's another $350-$500 right there. Also, as it , it's more than the car is worth at this point. But then we already out $500 to fix the window, and the Cash for Clunkers program has in a shortage of decent cheap beaters. We did some quick and figured, what the hell, we as well keep this one for a few more years.
